The story

The temple complex surrounds a pond that Hindus hold sacred, and pilgrims bathe in its water on holy occasions. It covers about 2 kanals and 15 marlas with a maximum depth of 20 feet. Water levels fell in 2012 and 2017, which was blamed on industrial water use and eucalyptus planting. In 2018 the Supreme Court ruled on water use by nearby cement factories. A filtration system for pilgrims was installed in 2017.
