Dandi is a village in District Chakwal, in Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. Talagang is about 40 km away in a straight line, Chakwal city about 68 km, and the Islamabad airport about 66 km, a useful reference for families travelling home from abroad.
Farmers across this plateau have long grown wheat and groundnut, relying on the rains of each season. Many families in the area have members serving in the army or working overseas, and those bonds with far-off loved ones run deep.
