This is Dera Saiyidan.

Dera Saiyidan is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. In a straight line, it lies about 32 km from Rawalpindi, 41 km from Islamabad airport, 46 km from Dhudial, and 55 km from Chakwal city.

The land around it is part of the Potohar plateau: dry, ravined country where wheat and groundnut are grown on rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south. Life here is tied to this land, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.

The full story of Dera Saiyidan, its founding, its people and its traditions, is still to be told by the villagers themselves. This page is an open invitation to do so.
