It lies on the Potohar plateau, where the land is dry and cut by ravines, and the farming depends on rain. Wheat and groundnut are the crops of this plateau, and the Salt Range rises to the south.
By straight line, Talagang is 19 km away, Lawa 43 km, the M2 motorway at the Kallar Kahar interchange 50 km, and the Kallar Kahar lake 51 km. Across this part of the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
