This is Dhok Biswal.

Dhok Biswal is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It is also spelt Dhok Gotijan, Dhok Gotlian and in other ways, a reminder of how a name travels from one mouth and page to another.

It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are farmed, with the Salt Range to the south. By straight line, Dhudial is 37 km away, Rawalpindi 41 km, Chakwal city 46 km and Islamabad airport 47 km.

Across this region, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The fuller story of Dhok Biswal, its people and its days, is still to be told by the people who live in it and remember it.
