This is Dhok Jattan.
Dhok Jattan is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, where the land is dry and cut by ravines, with the Salt Range to the south. In a straight line, Rawalpindi is about 28 km away, Islamabad airport about 40 km, Dhudial 55 km, and Chakwal city 63 km.
Farming in this area depends on rain, and wheat and groundnut are grown here without irrigation. Many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The full story of Dhok Jattan, its families and its days, is still to be told by its own people. This page is an invitation to tell it.
