This is Dhok Rehan.
Dhok Rehan is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south. It is about 50 km from Talagang, 71 km from Lawa, 77 km from Chakwal city and 70 km from the Islamabad airport, measured in a straight line.
Across the Potohar, families have long farmed wheat and groundnut on this land, and many households have members serving in the army or working abroad. This is a region that has sent its sons and daughters far from home while keeping its fields and family ties alive.
The full story of Dhok Rehan, its people, its lanes and its memories, is still to be told, and the village's own families are the ones to tell it.
