This is Jatal.
Jatal, also known as Nandna Jatal, is a village in District Chakwal in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines where farming depends on the rains and wheat and groundnut are the familiar crops.
In a straight line, Rawalpindi is about 30 km away, Islamabad airport about 45 km, Dhudial about 65 km, and Chakwal city about 73 km. As across much of the Potohar, many families here have members in the army or working abroad, keeping the bonds with home strong.
The full story of Jatal and its people is still to be told, and this page invites the village's own families to tell it.
