This is Kalianpur.
Kalianpur, also spelt Kalyanpur, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south.
In a straight line, Dandot in the Salt Range is about 17 km away, the Malot temple 20 km, Choa Saidan Shah 23 km and the Katas Raj temples 25 km. Across this plateau, wheat and groundnut are grown, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The fuller story of Kalianpur, its families and its streets is still to be told, and that story belongs to the people of the village. This page is an open invitation to share it.
