Karsal is a village and union council in Chakwal District, Punjab, Pakistan, part of Chakwal Tehsil. It lies about 26 km from Chakwal city, 18 km from Talagang, and 27 km from both the Kallar Kahar lake and the M2 motorway interchange at Kallar Kahar.

Most of the people belong to the Kassar tribe, and Karsal is one of a cluster of villages that form the tribal homeland of the Kassar, along with Chawli, Bhagwal, Dhoke Walana, Dhoke Kassar and Dhoke Chakoi. The famous Sufi Bari Imam was born in this area.

The village sits on the Potohar plateau, dry land cut by ravines, where farming depends on rain and grows wheat and groundnut, with the Salt Range to the south. Many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The fuller story of Karsal is still to be told by its own people.
