This is Khatwan.
Khatwan, also spelt Khat, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are grown, with the Salt Range to the south.
Khatwan is about 20 km from Talagang, 48 km from the Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange of the M2 motorway, and 49 km from Chakwal city in a straight line.
Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The story of Khatwan itself, its people and its days, is still to be told by the people who live and remember it.
