Madan is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to its south.
In a straight line, Madan is about 34 km from Dhudial, 40 km from Choa Saidan Shah, and between 41 and 42 km from the Malot temple and the Katas Raj temples. These distances place the village within reach of several well-known places in the district and region.
Life across the plateau is shaped by wheat and groundnut farming on rain-fed land, and by the many families whose members serve in the army or work abroad. The full story of Madan, its people and its past, is still to be told by the villagers themselves.
