Malala Gohar is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. Farming across this plateau depends on the rain, and wheat and groundnut are the main crops of the area.

In a straight line, the village is about 46 km from Rawalpindi, 50 km from Dhudial, 56 km from Islamabad airport and 59 km from Chakwal city. Across this region, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The village's own story, of those who left and those who stayed, is still to be told by its people.
