Roper Kalan (also written Ropar or Ropar Kalan) is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. In a straight line it is about 33 km from Islamabad airport, 34 km from Dhudial, 37 km from Chakwal city and 40 km from Rawalpindi.
The village lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravined ground and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are farmed, with the Salt Range to the south. Across the Potohar, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
