Sawan Na Mohra is a small hamlet in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. A mohra is a little settlement, and this one lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and open fields where farming depends on the rain.
The land around the village grows wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south. It is about 26 km in a straight line from Rawalpindi, about 34 km from Islamabad airport, and about 57 km from Chakwal city.
Across the Potohar plateau, many families have members in the army or working abroad. The full story of Sawan Na Mohra, and of the people who have lived here, is still to be told by the villagers themselves.
