It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. In a straight line, Rawalpindi is about 34 km away, Islamabad airport about 49 km, Dhudial 64 km, and Chakwal city 73 km.
As on many parts of this plateau, many families here have members who serve in the army or work abroad, so the village is often spread across several countries and cities at once.
