This is Welasar.
Welasar is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies in the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south.
Welasar is about 26 km in a straight line from Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway, 34 km from Talagang, and 45 km from the Katas Raj temples. Like many villages in this part of Punjab, many families here have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The full story of Welasar, its people, its streets and its memories, is still to be told. We invite the villagers and their families everywhere to tell it here, in their own words.
