This is Bagga Shaikhan.

Bagga Shaikhan is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is also spelt Bagga Shekhan or Bagga Shekhān, so you may see it written in different ways on maps and in older papers.

The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are farmed, with the Salt Range rising to the south. In a straight line, it is about 20 km from Rawalpindi, 33 km from Islamabad airport, 60 km from Dhudial and 67 km from Chakwal city. Across this plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.

The full story of Bagga Shaikhan, its families and its people is still to be told. We invite the villagers and their families abroad to share it here in their own words.
