Chak Dharkanawala, also spelt Kotli, is a chak in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. A chak is a settlement that grew up in the canal era. The village lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines where farming depends on rain, with the Salt Range to the south.
Its position is well placed. Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 17 km away in a straight line. Talagang is 21 km away and Chakwal city is 36 km.
Across the Potohar plateau, farmers grow wheat and groundnut, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of this village, its founding and its people, is still to be told by the people who live here.
