This is Dab Kalan.

Dab Kalan is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. You may also see it spelt Dab, Dabb, Dhab or Dhāb, but it is the same home. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south.

Chakwal city is about 7 km away in a straight line, Dhudial about 8 km, and Kallar Kahar lake about 28 km. The Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway is also about 28 km away.

Across the Potohar plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Dab Kalan, its streets, its people and its long memories, is still to be told by the villagers themselves, and this page is a place to begin.
