Daiwal, also spelt Dhaiwal, is a village in District Chakwal in Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, where the land is dry and cut by ravines and farming depends on rain. The fields around it are known for wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south.

Daiwal is about 32 km from Kallar Kahar lake and 33 km from the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway. The Dandot area of the Salt Range is around 43 km away, and the Katas Raj temples about 45 km.

Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The fuller story of Daiwal, its people and its days, is still to be told by the people of Daiwal themselves.
