This is Dhok Bijar.
Dhok Bijar is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab. It is also spelt Bijar or Bijār. In a straight line, it is about 27 km from Dhudial, 33 km from Chakwal city, 41 km from Islamabad airport and 43 km from Rawalpindi.
The village stands on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. Across this plateau, families grow wheat and groundnut, and many households have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The full story of Dhok Bijar, its families and its days, is still to be told. We invite the people of the village, here and abroad, to write it together.
