Dhok Kalia, also spelt Dhok Dhamial, is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. In straight-line distance, it lies 30 km from Dhudial, 36 km from Chakwal city, 39 km from Islamabad airport and 41 km from Rawalpindi.
The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a dry land of ravines where farming depends on rain and families grow wheat and groundnut. The Salt Range rises to the south. Many families in this area have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The fuller story of Dhok Kalia, its families and its people, is still to be told. We invite those who know it to share it here in their own words.
