Dhok Dera is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet, in District Chakwal in the Punjab of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. Talagang is about 50 km away, Chakwal city 75 km, and Islamabad airport 64 km.
Across the Potohar, families have long worked the land, growing wheat and groundnut on rain-fed fields, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Dhok Dera, its fields and its people is still to be told, and this page is a place for its own people to begin telling it.
