Kanet, also spelt Kanat, is a village in District Chakwal in Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south. In a straight line, it is 48 km from Talagang, 73 km from Chakwal city and 64 km from Islamabad airport.

Life here has long been shaped by the land. Families grow wheat and groundnut on rain-watered fields, and across this part of the plateau many households have members serving in the army or working abroad.
