This is Dhok Shirin.
Dhok Shirin is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where families have long farmed wheat and groundnut. The Salt Range rises to the south.
In a straight line, Chakwal city is 26 km away, Dhudial 30 km, Talagang 34 km, and the M2 motorway at the Kallar Kahar interchange 38 km. Like many homes across the Potohar, families here have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The village's own history, its people and its everyday life are still to be told. This page is an invitation to those who know it best to share their stories in their own words.
