This is Jero Ratial.
Jero Ratial, also spelt Nawi Jero Ratial, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. In a straight line, it lies about 40 km from Dhudial, 50 km from Chakwal city, 52 km from Rawalpindi and 59 km from Choa Saidan Shah.
The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are grown. The Salt Range rises to the south. Across this region, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The fuller story of Jero Ratial, its families and its days is still to be told by its own people. This page is an invitation to begin telling it.
