Kanewa is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, where families grow wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south.
In a straight line, the village is about 26 km from the Malot temple and from Dandot in the Salt Range, 28 km from Choa Saidan Shah, and 31 km from the Katas Raj temples. Across this plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
