This is Lal Shah.
Lal Shah is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. The wider area is known for wheat and groundnut farming.
Lal Shah is within easy reach of places many travellers know. Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 10 km away in a straight line, Chakwal city about 12 km, and the Katas Raj temples about 21 km.
Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The village's own story, its families and its memories, is still to be told by its people, and this page is an invitation to tell it.
