Larian is a village in District Chakwal, in Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. In a straight line, Chakwal city is about 23 km away, Dhudial about 25 km, and both Talagang and the Kallar Kahar lake about 38 km.
Across this plateau, many families have sons and daughters serving in the army or working abroad, and Larian is part of that story. The village's own history, its people and its everyday life are still to be told by the people who live here and those who have gone away.
