Dingi Bala is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravined ground and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. In straight-line distance, Chakwal city is about 23 km away, Dhudial 26 km, Talagang 35 km and the Kallar Kahar lake 36 km.

Across the Potohar plateau, wheat and groundnut farming depend on the rain, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. Those who grew up here, and those who now live far away, carry that connection with them.
