This is Ratta.

Ratta is a village in Kallar Kahar Tehsil of District Chakwal, in Punjab province, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south. Farmers here grow wheat and groundnut, and the fields depend on the rains.

In a straight line, Ratta is about 7 km from Kallar Kahar lake and from the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway, about 18 km from Chakwal city and 27 km from Talagang. Many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, so the village is spread across many places while its heart stays here.

The longer story of Ratta, its people and its traditions is still to be told, and this page is open for the village's own voice to tell it.
