This is Saura.
Saura is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a dry land of ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to its south.
Life here follows the land. Families grow wheat and groundnut, depending on the rain, and across this area many households have members serving in the army or working abroad. Lawa is about 34 km away and Talagang about 42 km, in a straight line. The Kallar Kahar lake and the M2 motorway interchange at Kallar Kahar are each about 47 km away.
The full story of Saura, its families and its memories is still to be told by the people of the village themselves. Everyone with a link to Saura is invited to add to it.
