Wanhar is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, where farmers grow wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south. Talagang is about 23 km away and Lawa about 29 km. The Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway is about 50 km off, and the Kallar Kahar lake about 51 km.
As on much of the plateau, many families here have members serving in the army or working abroad. Their links to the wider world keep the village connected to family far away.
