This is Akwal.

Akwal is a village in Talagang Tehsil, Punjab, Pakistan, lying about 4 to 5 km from Talagang city. It is one of the 23 union councils of Talagang District and is home to about 9,847 people.

The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are farmed. The Salt Range rises to its south. Chakwal city is about 45 km away, and the M2 motorway's Kallar Kahar interchange about 35 km.

Across the Potohar, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, and Akwal is part of that tradition. The fuller story of its history and people is still to be told by the villagers themselves.
