This is Chhapper.
Chhapper, also spelt Gahia Chhappar, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south.
In straight-line distance, Dhudial is about 32 km away, Islamabad airport about 36 km, and Chakwal city and Rawalpindi about 38 km each. As in many families across this area, some of its people serve in the army or work abroad.
The village's own story, of its people, its elders and its everyday life, is still to be told by those who live here and by those who have left. This page is an open invitation to tell it.
