It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are grown, with the Salt Range to the south. The village lake is about 1 km away, Chakwal city is 22 km, and the Katas Raj temples are 25 km. The M2 motorway interchange at Kallar Kahar keeps the village close to the rest of the country. Emperor Babar wrote of Kallar Kahar in his memoirs as a "child of Kashmir", admiring its natural beauty and charming weather. He also praised Takht-e-Babri as a charming place with good air, and noted that the area was once a natural sanctuary for peacocks.
