Khokhar Zer, also spelt Khokhar Zir, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It is part of Chakwal Tehsil and the Khokhar Zair Union Council. It lies about 13 km in a straight line from Chakwal city, and Katas Raj, Kallar Kahar and the M2 motorway interchange are each about 14 km away. The land is dry Potohar plateau, cut by ravines, with rain-fed fields of wheat and groundnut and the Salt Range to the south.

The village is believed to be the largest in the Dhan Chorasi area, with more than 10,000 people, and its families speak Dhani. Many households have members serving in the army or working abroad. The village has a Government High School for girls, a Government High School for boys, private schools, a Basic Health Unit, and two dams, the Khokhar Zer Dam and the Surlah Dam.

In the early 1940s the village was well known for its madrasa. Almost every house has a Hafiz, and the Hafiz of this village have led Taraweeh prayers across Punjab during Ramadan. The full story of Khokhar Zer is still to be told by its own people.
