Yara is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. In a straight line, it lies about 26 km from Lawa and 29 km from Talagang. The Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 45 km away.
Yara sits on the Potohar plateau, a dry land cut by ravines. Farming here depends on rain, and families grow wheat and groundnut. The Salt Range rises to the south. Many households have members serving in the army or working abroad.
