This is Dhok Dhakki.
Dhok Dhakki is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits in the dry, ravined country of the Potohar plateau, where farming depends on rain and families grow wheat and groundnut. The Salt Range rises to the south.
Choa Saidan Shah lies about 33 km away in a straight line, and the wider district is shaped by this same land and its seasons.
Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Dhok Dhakki, its families and its people, is still to be told by the people who live here and those who carry its name far away.
