This is Dhok Shamali.
Dhok Shamali is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. The full story of its founding families and its people is still to be told by those who live here and those who have gone abroad.
The village lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are grown. The Salt Range rises to the south. As in many homes across this area, families here have members serving in the army or working overseas.
In straight-line distance, the village is about 33 km from Choa Saidan Shah and from the Malot temple, about 36 km from the Katas Raj temples, and about 36 km from Dandot in the Salt Range.
